Friday Night Lights has been Renewed!

You are breaking my heart about "The Wire." And better than "BSG"? Careful . . .
I felt that things started to roll in The Wire with episodes 5 and 6. If by that point you aren't at least a little intrigued with where things are going, then I guess it cannot be helped.
Yeah, I have so far only seen 1-3. The next disc is on its way, so we shall see!
you don't even like real football, but you watch pretend melodramatic football on teevee? i am shocked, SHOCKED to hear that you like this show.
It's a wonderful show - if you watched the pilot, you would not be able to deny this fact. FACT!
isn't the pilot the one where the one dude gets paralyzed? that alone is reason enough for despising that show!
Au contraire, my friend! That is what makes the show so awesome. The first time I tried to watch the pilot I only saw 1/2, so I missed that part, and didn't care much for the show. When I saw it again, that event totally sold me on it. Before that happens, the set up is so predictable, but after that happens you realize that they are never going to do the expected storylines, and they don't. It is honestly impossible to overstate the awesomeness of this show.
Also! I thought you were over not liking things that didn't have happy endings!
dude, not about the lack of happy ending! more about the fact that on the first show out of the box, they do the most hackneyed football drama cliche EVER! plus, hello, FOOTBALL DRAMA?!? i think maybe you've had a stroke or something, do you watch this show while playing games and eating ranch flavored pudding with your hands & face that you wash down with 50 different black licorice flavored german liquers?!?
(the boy on the end is cute, but from the commercials i think he has Major Problems.)
and i am TOTALLY hating miserable endings, i loved "no country for old men!" i won't spoil any further, but you know what i mean.
gah, comment spam! should have been "totally OVER hating miserable endings" above. must go to bed now & stop hasseling you about liking things wildly out of character for you.
Yeah, but the thing that makes that storyline so NOT a cliché is that the pilot seems to be setting him up to be the hero and this to be a heartbreaking blow, but it turns out that the show is basically not even about him. (I would argue, though there is room for disagreement as to how much it is about him, etc.). It is actually quite edgy.

ANYWAY, it has never been out of character for me to enjoy good storytelling, which this is.
You keep your paws off my high school boyfriend. I'm the only pedophile in our graduating class. Riggins is totally mine, you Anne Bancroft wannabe!
PS hope that wasn't too bitchy for my vox comeback
